Level 3 Award in Emergency Care for First Responders (RQF)

Who is it for?

This is our more advanced first aid course. This course is aimed at people that may have to be first on scene in emergencies such as security professionals, event medics, cabin crew and community first responders. Give us the opportunity to share with you our knowledge, skills and experience. We will give you real, actionable skills that have been proven in the emergency service and military environment.

You should expect to train over 4 days

Knowledge and Skills Include

Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
How to assess an incident and casualty survey
CPR use an AED on adult, child and infant
Providing first aid to a casualty who is choking
External and catastrophic bleed management such as stab wounds and amputations using tourniquet, haemostatic dressings and pressure dressings
Shock
Chest injury
Use of medicinal gas -oxygen and nitrous oxide
Spinal injury
Use of a bag valve mask in CPR
Airway management using oropharyngeal airways (OPA) and nasopharyngeal airways (NPA)

Assessment method

Practical assessments and a 55 question multiple choice exam which requires 70% to pass.
